About Karatu Education Fund
Karatu Education Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in the community of Karatu, Tanzania. It was established in 2000 by Dale Jensen, former Manager of Gibb’s Farm.
Proceeds of the fund are used strategically to build and restore education facilities, and to improve the quality of learning in Tanzanian Schools. Karatu Education Fund also provides support to existing organizations with social service projects in the areas of healthcare and environmental preservation.
Karatu Education Fund supports efforts that encourage teamwork and active participation, in the hopes that we can help to develop a community of confident, educated citizens capable of making contributions of substance to their community, their region and their country.
Karatu Education Fund inc is a Non-Profit Organization registered in Washington D.C. All donations are entirely tax-deductible and are forwarded to Karatu Education Fund in Tanzania.

About the area
Karatu is a town of about 30,000 residents, with over 300,000 in the Karatu District. It is located 2 hours west of Arusha Town, half way between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater. Karatu Education Fund works with various Primary Schools and Secondary Schools in the district as well as providing student sponsorship.
